My darling and I went out for dinner last night and I decided to wear my spring project. I spent most of my spring semester trend researching, fabric testing and sample sewing to get this cardi to come out just right.
I used a rayon jersey knit for the base of the cardi and a quilted knit fabric for the armhole and hem.
The last two photos were taking a few months back at the photo shoot we did.
There was 4 people in my group and we each had certain roles to maintain. We were working under the inspiration of Wimbledon and Twin Peaks for Spring 2015 for Lulu Lemon Lab in Vancouver. We had one of the designer come to our final presentation and sit at the panel of all my instructions.
Each person in my group had to design 2 tops to create a cohesive 8 piece collection. We only had to sample and sew one of the 2 designs you created. This was a very elaborate project full of spec sheets and look books.
This is the mood board created for the look book. I cannot take credit for it, my lovely group member Olivia created this masterpiece. She had work work with the bleed and the margins during printing to make sure the words lined up through the coils.
Above is the flats of the 8 pieces we designed. I can only take credit for the center two, the long cardi and the power tank.
Overall this was a great project. Not only did I get to work closely with 3 lovely ladies but a designer from Lulu Lemon Lab came and shared knowledge with us.
