Twist a Knit

Start with two pieces of knit fabric at 11 x 25 inches.

Tie one of your fabric pieces in the center with a cord.
Pin center onto center front and pin into place.

Lay across shoulder, pin the highest point of the shoulder (HPS)
Smooth down the shoulder placing pins as you go.
Pin all the way down the armhole.

Take bottom half of fabric and lightly stretch across the bust.
Do not pull knot past center front  but make sure fabric is not dropping.
Fold under 1 cm seam allowance and pin along the bust line.

Trim up to but not past the waist line.
This will help you get a flat shape.

Pin along side seam and waist making sure that the fabric is laying flat where ever it would be sewn.
Trim off extra fabric leaving 1 cm seam allowance.

Now we go back to the spot where we tied the knot.
This is where the twist part of the shirt happens.
Take the other piece of fabric and feed it through the hole.

Pull it through so there is an even amount on both side of the twist.
Repeat same steps in order to create an even look.
Start pinning at HPS and work your way down to the waist.

Try to make the gathers as even and mirrored as possible.
Pin together at center front, from waist to as close to the bust line as you can get.

Trim down extra fabric leaving 1 cm seam allowance.

Mark all seams including :Bust
                                         Waist,
                                            Shoulder,
                                            Armhole,
                                              Side seams

The pattern pieces will look something like this.

To finish garment:
Drape back
Sew together one half
Make the twist
Sew together second half
Sew together at center front.
